Tourism Best Management Practices
Working together for Juneau’s Future
Juneau isn’t just a great place to visit; it’s a great place to live too! And we want to keep it that way. That’s why back in the mid 1990’s a handful of local tour operators got together and formed Tourism Best Management Practices (TBMP) with the intent to minimize the impacts of tourism on the community.
Based on an honor code, TBMP members agree to follow operation guidelines on topics from traffic management, vehicle emissions, and noise control to cleanliness of the sidewalks, trail etiquette, and marine vessel activities. Download the current TBMP Guidelines.
To hold operators responsible for their activities, Juneau residents can report issues to the TBMP hotline at (907) 586-6774 or via email. Learn more by visiting the TBMP website.
