Juneau offers so much to see and do that one day isn't nearly enough time to visit with us, but if you're making a port call on your cruise vacation, on a quick business trip, or passing through on your way to a nearby community, we can keep you busy...and give you plenty to think about for your next visit.

Here's how to make the most of it :

Full Day

If visiting during the summer months (May - September), you'll find a variety of activities and attractions to enjoy - and nearly all of the tours you'll find in the Things to See & Do section of this site can be easily done in a day. In fact, you can often fit in more than one activity - and we highly recommend it!

Half Day

Activities you can do in half a day or less include hiking, biking and kayaking (guided or unguided), rainforest zipline tours, whale watching and wildlife viewing cruises, city sightseeing tours (including the Mendenhall Glacier and Visitor Center), Juneau Icefield flightseeing, trekking and dogsledding, the Mt. Robert's Tram and alpine hiking, and half-day sportfishing charters along with salmon hatchery, cannery, brewery, and botanical garden tours. Whew! Winter Months

If visiting between October - April, Juneau's arts community comes alive with a variety of theater, symphony, and opera performances. Check out our Events Calendar to see what's happening during your visit. Juneau also offers incredible cross-country and downhill winter sports between January and April. Eaglecrest ski area and the surrounding mountains offer intermediates and experts unforgettable skiing and snowboarding opportunities.
