Parking Information
Street Parking15 minute and 1 hour parking areas are monitored year round. The 1 hour limit for on-street parking is not in effect, however, after 6 pm nightly, and on weekends. Streets outside the downtown core offer less-restricted parking.

Helpful Driving Tips
From the Alaska DMV Driver's Manual
- Alaska law requires everyone in a motor vehicle to use a safety belt.
- Slow down, yield and be prepared to stop when approaching pedestrians who are walking on or crossing the roadway.
- Signal well in advance for turns, stops, or lane changes.
- Right turns are permitted at red lights only after a full stop and if the turn can be made safely, or is not restricted by a posted sign.
- Driving conditions in Juneau are often less than ideal, so please use caution. Many streets have special posted speed limits.
- A driver may not drive at such slow speed as to hold back or block the normal and reasonable flow of traffic. On multi-lane highways, if you drive slower than other traffic, use the right lane, except when passing.
