Located just 1 mile from the scenic glacier viewpoint at the Brotherhood Bridge, with trails along Mendenhall River, and only three miles from the Glacier, this gracious home offers unique and cozy bedrooms in a safe, quiet, and convenient neighborhood.   Take a nostalgic step back in time to the Gold Rush Days with Grandpa\u2019s iron bed and Grandma\u2019s heirlooms in Grandpa's Grizzly Room -- twin beds covered in cozy quilts and Grandpa Grizzly on the wall to welcome you, Alaskan style.  Or choose Grandma's Teddy Bear Room and enjoy the pillow top queen bed, Egyptian cotton sheets and warm, rustic cabin quilt.  Both rooms share the large hall bath.  <\/P>

The house is located across from the Rotary Park pond and playground, within walking distance to bus-line, banks, restaurants, mall, health club, grocery stores and post office.  Only 5 minutes from the airport or University, 10 minutes from the ferry terminal and 15 minutes from downtown Juneau.  <\/P>

Guests may enjoy the fabulous view of Thunder Mountain and Nugget Glacier from the raised dining deck above the garden hot tub, use the BBQ in the gazebo for grilling, or finish the day roasting marshmallows in the backyard fire pit.  There are many wonderful hiking, biking and nature trails nearby -- bikes are available upon request.  The home is smoke-free except for Sunny \u2013 the adorable cockatiel, who whistles upon your arrival and Snowflake the parakeet.  <\/P>

Your Juneau-born hostess can share her knowledge and experience with great insider tips and recommendations to enhance your visit to her hometown.  She has a lovely flower and organic vegetable garden, apple and cherry trees, blueberries, strawberries and raspberries that will grace the morning table in a variety of homemade jams, jellies and syrups. Continental breakfast of fresh fruit, cereal and muffins is provided on weekdays, a hot cooked breakfast is served on weekends; and always, fresh French Roast coffee or a variety of teas are provided to start your day.  As time and seasons permit, you may also find such treats as fresh organic carrot juice or a variety of Debi\u2019s juice bar concoctions, fruit or berry smoothies.  Your host will share his rich Tlingit culture and Native history, plus his backyard smokehouse techniques that may include a taste of his smoked salmon samples.<\/P>

Our rates are $95-$105 in peak season (May 1 \u2013 Sept 30) and $75-$85 in low season (Oct 1 \u2013 April 30). We accept traveler\u2019s checks, personal checks or cash.  A deposit of one night\u2019s stay is required to hold your reservation. Cancellation notices must be received fourteen days prior to your arrival for a full refund, a 50% refund will apply to cancellation notices received within seven days of your arrival; otherwise your deposit will be forfeited in full. A $25 cancellation fee applies to all.<\/P>
