Charters and Adventures in Juneau Alaska
The waters surrounding Juneau hold a wealth of sea life rivaling the gold in the mountains. The seafood that Alaska is famous for, can be caught throughout the Juneau area.

Every type of salmon can be caught in Juneau's waters. Alaska king or chinook salmon are known for their incredible size. The silver or coho salmon are known for their superior strength and ability to fight. The Gastineau Salmon Hatchery stocks Twin Lakes each year with small salmon. Juneau waters are also home to Pacific halibut, often weighing in excess of 100 pounds. Dolly Varden, cutthroat and steelhead trout are found in our rivers, lakes, streams and saltwater shoreline areas.

Remote fishing lodges offer world class fishing. Many of these lodges are located in the northern Inside Passage and are accessed within an hour by floatplane from Juneau. Some are located on the outside coast so fishing for Ling cod and Red Snapper is available. Deep sea, river, lake and stream fishing is plentiful.

Juneau is also a fly fishing paradise. Local fishing charter companies offer half and full-day excursions for fly and deep sea fishing in Alaska's prime fishing territory. Start landing fish within fifteen minutes from our docks.

Fishing licenses are available for purchase through many of the charter boat captains or major retail outlets. Out of state anglers can purchase a 1, 3, 7, 14 day or annual license for fishing in Alaska. Fishing for king salmon will require the purchase of a king salmon tag. If you are planning to fish in Juneau, inquire at your accommodation if there is ample freezer storage for your catch. Several Juneau markets will also special pack your catch for the journey home to your own freezer.

Questions regarding current fishing conditions, licensing and bag limits can be directed to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game at 907-465-4270.
