First Friday Summer Block Parties
Beginning on Friday, June 7th, there will be a weekly celebration of all things artistic and cultural in and around the Juneau Arts & Culture Center (JACC)/Centennial Hall complex. The 2019 Summer Block Party series will run through Friday the 16th of August, a guaranteed good time, come rain or shine!
The first Summer Block Party on Friday, June 7th will feature the Juneau Big Band and get the summer off to a rollicking start. Summer Block Parties will happen in the JACC Main Hall or in the Centennial Hall Courtyard, depending on weather conditions. There will be vendor booths from a host of exciting local merchants, plenty of fun and games, and a beer garden thanks to Alaskan Brewing Company. The First Friday Summer Block Party each month (June 7th, July 5th, and August 2nd) will be dedicated to supporting the New JACC, and proceeds raised will go to the New JACC Capital Campaign Fund.
Some highlights among the performers scheduled for 2019 Summer Block Parties are the Juneau Big Band on June 7th, Juneau Fine Arts Camp Revue on June 14th, Juneau Community Bands on June 29th, Daughters of the New Moon on July 12th, Juneau Disability Pride on July 19th, Gigi Monroe & Friends on August 2nd, and Siblings & Outlaws with Lance Lawhorne on August 16th.
