Nalimu

Henry Leasia is a fixture of the Haines music scene and performs regularly throughout Alaska and the Yukon. The name of his solo act, Nalimu, is taken from his middle name, which comes from the Hawaiian word for seaweed. He is a multi-instrumentalist, combining guitar, bass, keyboard, and vocals through a loop pedal to give the effect of a one-man band. His music can broadly be described as an indie alternative, combining elements of folk, pop, funk, and rock. You may have heard songs from his 2020 EP - No Ni Ná played on KXLL in Juneau. Other projects he is involved with include the 10-piece Haines supergroup Heavy Nettle.
