SEAGLA Presents: The Mind Meddling Magic of Andrew Nadon
SEAGLA Presents the Mind Meddling Magic of Andrew Nadon! Andrew is a magical entertainer and musician from Skagway, Alaska. He’s taken some serious effort to push the limits of his mind by attempting to read the simple thoughts of others all for the entertainment it provides for his audiences. He presented his act on the White Pass and Yukon Route Railroad for three years, has been the resident entertainer at the Westmark Hotel for the last four summer seasons and has performed at the Southeast Alaska State Fair for the last 3 years.
Tickets are available at the door or at: https://jahc.na.ticketsearch.com/sales/salesevent/14871
He'll be performing two shows on March 25, one that's child-friendly starting at 5:45pm, and one more geared for adults starting at 7:30pm. There will be a silent auction alongside the magic show, and 50% of all proceeds from the evening will go towards NAMI Juneau's Gender Affirming Items Scholarship for Youth.
The Gender Affirming Items Scholarship fund for local youth is used to purchase gender-affirming items for local young gender-diverse and transgender people. NAMI Juneau recognizes that supporting youth in their gender identities is a form of suicide prevention and promotes positive mental health. NAMI has head so many stories of joy from young people when they have gotten items purchased in the last year! This fund began last summer during pride month and NAMI is excited to continue fundraising and using generous donations to make this a lasting resource for youth. The fund is intentionally low-barrier, and youth get to decide what gender-affirming items means to them, ask for whatever they want, and then NAMI buys it for them. Youth are also encouraged to check out the Gender Support Group run by Koru Counseling at the Zach Gordon Youth Center and monthly queer space events for teens at the ZGYC. More info about those programs can be found on the ZGYC social media.
If you know a youth who would like to take advantage of this program, the online application is available here: https://www.namijuneau.org/lgbtq2
