Summer Solstice Bonfire and Rally Workshop
Every solstice we host a bonfire at Eagle beach and you're invited! A gathering during the slowest sunset Juneau has to offer, fully equipped with a warm, crackling fire, delicious grilled goods, fun games for all ages, and that essential guest at any good get together: music. The next day we'll also be holding a rally at the capitol! Read more below, and find that event here: https://tinyurl.com/y6tf4ytl
This bonfire will have optional workshop activities to prepare for the Turn Out For The Tongass Rally on the following day. The Alaskan congressional delegation is attempting to sway USDA Secretary Sonny Perdue to allow roads and logging into currently protected Tongass forest. We'll have stations for making signs and printing t-shirts as well as plenty of staff on hand to discuss strategy and how to deepen our impact as your friends, neighbors, and SEACC gather at the capitol building and Turn Out For The Tongass.
This will be the second of several events culminating in the rally:
• June 12th: RALLY ART PARTY! (https://tinyurl.com/y5yrgv2n)
• June 21st: Solstice Bonfire and Rally Workshop!
• June 22nd: Turn Out For The Tongass Rally! (https://tinyurl.com/y6tf4ytl)
Come join us for warm company, warm food, cold drinks, and optional rally preparation!
