True Crime Capital Killers Walking Tour
Two former Juneau criminal reporters will offer a Halloween walking tour. True Crime: Capital Killers is a tour of locations related to famous murders in the Capital City. Join the couple as they wander the sites behind some of Juneau's most grisly stories.
Ed Schoenfeld, who retired recently from public broadcasting, covered some of the best known murders in the area during his more than 30 years reporting in Juneau, including the mass murder trial of John Kenneth Peel. His wife, Betsy Longenbaugh, was a crime reporter for the Juneau Empire and Sitka Daily Sentinel and is an avid amateur historian. She will present on Juneau's historic murders, including the prison escape of Alaska's first serial murderer, territorial hangings and the story of Slick Winnie, the "Trunk Murderess".
