Underground Connection

Mission
Underground Connection creates a gateway between the underground arts, music, and culture scenes of Alaska and the rest of the world by utilizing partnerships between local businesses and patrons of the arts to nurture and grow connections between artists across the west and beyond. Alaska, and southeast in particular, has unique challenges when it comes to the financial viability of bringing outside art in and sharing inside art out; Underground Connection utilizes community connection to make sharing art across these distances viable.

What
Underground Connection hosts monthly shows in Juneau, bringing artists from outside of Alaska to share stages with Alaskan performers hailing from across the state. These shows will be hosted at The Crystal Saloon through the spring, with the goal of expanding to more found-spaces as the months go-on. As in many professions, music is about who you know. We aim to broaden the connections between local and visiting performers, all the while bringing new and exciting music to Juneau.

When
This series will happen in monthly installments on the second Saturday of the month beginning on January 14th and carry through the rest of 2023 (and hopefully beyond!).
