Restarting Juneau's tourism industry responsibly
Your friends at Travel Juneau want to assure our visitors and our community that a healthy destination is our priority. Juneau Cares is the tourism industry's COVID-19 response and mitigation plan and shows the commitment to reopening responsibly. Together businesses across multiple industries have implemented protocols so that visitors can once again come and experience everything Juneau has to offer.
Juneau Cares participants will:
- Create protocols and plans to mitigate the transmission of COVID-19 and other viral illnesses
- Train staff in the plan
- Implement the plan and enforce its policies for visitors and staff
- Make the plan available to guests and the public
- Maintain/update the plan as needed, and comply with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
As part of the Juneau Cares program, some of our partners have taken the additional step of seeking accreditation of their plans through the Global Biorisk Advisory Council, or GBAC. You’ll see the big blue GBAC star on these partners’ websites and in their facilities. GBAC’s 3rd party accreditation is recognized throughout the nation.
Juneau is committed to a thoughtful, conscientious reopening of our visitor industry.
