Getting to Juneau By Air
You can't drive to Juneau, so you have two choices: Juneau by air or by sea.
Flying to Juneau is a quick two-hour direct flight from Seattle or take the "milk run" and meet people from all over Southeast as you make your way to Juneau. Taking a small boat cruise? Fly into Juneau a little early and spend a few days exploring Juneau before taking off on your small-cruise adventure. A little local advice, sit on the right side of the plane when flying north and the left side of the plan flying south - on a clear day you'll have a birds' eye view of the icefields and glaciers from Alaska to Canada and back!
We are close enough to the Pacific Northwest south of us and almost the same to Anchorage to the north so that Juneau makes a perfect long-weekend getaway. Can't make time for a vacation but have a holiday coming up? Join us in Juneau for a music event and a cozy stay at a hotel. Come in April for the Alaska Folk Festival. Come for the symphony. Come for performances of one of our four professional theaters. Come for the artists on First Friday or the makers' markets. Come for the fall trail hikes or summer whale watching. Come for fishing, for skiing, for spring bear viewing or late summer salmon runs. Just come. We never met anyone that was sad they did and flying makes it a quick and easy trip!
Note: Alaska Airlines flies to Juneau year-round and Delta services Juneau June - August. Smaller communities are serviced regularly by Alaska Seaplanes.
