Eaglecrest Ski Area
Eaglecrest Ski Area is Juneau, Alaska’s community owned ski area. Located on Douglas Island just 12 miles from downtown Juneau, Eaglecrest spans over 640 skiable acres of breathtaking terrain serviced by four double chairlifts. The ski area has a vertical drop of 1,620 feet and offers terrain for all ability levels including groomed runs, wide-open bowls, and glades nestled throughout the mountain. Nordic skiing is also available on the area’s groomed Nordic trails. Eaglecrest is Juneau’s Winter Play Ground and provides skiers and snowboarders a big mountain experience with a small mountain feel.
Facilities include day lockers, an equipment rental shop, a professionally staffed Snowsports School, Retail & Repair Shop and the Eaglecrest Grill. The area operates from the beginning of December through the second week in April, open Thursday – Monday and closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. During the off-season, the chairlifts do not run but hikers and bikers can explore the mountain on a variety of trails that meander around the mountain.
Private rentals are available. The Base Lodge is perfect for weddings, parties, and large meetings. The Boardroom in the Porcupine Lodge works great for smaller meetings and training sessions.
Eaglecrest is affordable! Day passes are available for $62, with discounts available for college students and military. Multi-day passes and flex passes provide ways to save as well.
