Jensen-Olson Arboretum
Juneau's public garden garden that both teaches and inspires learning in horticulture, natural sciences and landscaping and preserves the beauty of the landscape for pure aesthetic enjoyment. The arboretum is a Holder of the Nationally Accredited Primula CollectionTM. Over 100 varieties can be seen throughout the blooming season. The arboretum is an open-air experience. Be prepared for weather as there are no indoor facilities. Parking for automobiles only, space limited. One accessible toilet onsite. A rare experience of a public garden on a coastline, in a beautiful setting it can be seen from the Shrine of St. Therese across Pearl Harbor.
The onsite vault toilet is closed November through March. The Pt. Caroline Trail remains open seven days a week.
The Arboretum’s onsite manager and horticulturist Ginger Hudson maintains a regular schedule of Wednesday through Sunday. Rentals, special requests, and questions can be made by contacting Ginger at (907) 789-0139 or ginger.hudson@juneau.org.
Winter hours will remain in effect through most of March. Summer operation hours are scheduled to return March 23, 2022. That’s Wednesday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
