Wrangell Convention and Visitor Bureau

Wrangell is located south of Juneau and is easily accessible by either the Alaska Marine Highway ferry or Alaska Airlines jet. Experience Wrangell's unique charm and friendly atmosphere. There is so much to see and do -- take a trip on the mighty Stikine River, see Shakes Glacier and learn about the gold rush history of the Stikine. There are trails for the novice and experienced hiker, and cultural sites of the Stikine Tlingit. Chief Shakes Tribal House, Totem Park and Petroglyph Beach State Historic Park are within easy walking distance of downtown and the Wrangell Museum and Visitor Center. Play golf at Muskeg Meadows Golf Course, an excellent USGA rate course.  In July and August, don't forget the Anan Bear and Wildlife Observatory, a U.S. Forest Service observation area to watch brown and black bears feasting on pink salmon.
